More about Signe
Signe Linville found her passion for coaching in 2002, when she began her coaching career as an assistant for North Country Aquatic Club (now UVAC) while a student at Colby-Sawyer College. She earned her degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2006. Linville ended her college swimming career as one of the most decorated and versatile student-athletes to ever hit the pool in CSC history. Linville was inducted into the CSC Hall of Fame in 2011.
In 2008, Linville was hired at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center when the building was still under construction. She was tasked to be the Assistant Aquatic and Fitness Coordinator and Head Age Group Coach.
In 2014 Linville returned to her Alma Mater as the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach. While coaching at CSC she decided to bring club swimming back to the New London area, which continues to this day. She coached at CSC for 3 successful years before returning to UVAC.
Currently at UVAC Linville is branching out in the water. She is the Assistant Masters Coach for the UV Rays, Head Site Coach for UVAC South at Colby Sawyer College and a popular Water Aerobics Instructor.
When Signe is not at UVAC she is an avid competitor in SwimRun events. Signe and her husband Mike Mooney have two children MacCormick and Beatrix. They live in Newbury, NH.
"I've just started working with Signe Linville to improve my swimming technique and build endurance. I wasn't sure it was a good idea and I was nervous thinking I might be getting in over my head (no pun intended), but after the first session I was totally reassured. She is a very competent and attentive coach and she was able to make me feel comfortable right away. After only one session I can already feel the difference and I'm confident that with her help I will be able to meet the goals I've set for myself. I'm so glad I took the plunge!"
