Men's Locker Room Renovation Updates
September 4, 2025
This week, the underground plumbing rough-in was completed, and the team has started pouring the concrete bases for the lockers. Next week, you’ll begin to see wood framing for the locker bases taking shape. Plumbers are also busy placing drops for the new showers, and our crew is pressure washing the walls to prepare for the next stages of construction.
To support the project, we’ve added another storage container on-site, bringing the total to three. Materials are continuing to arrive: toilet partitions are now on site, while we’re still awaiting submittals for the wall and floor tile.
One of the biggest updates involves the lavatory sinks. The original Bradley design is now delayed until October 28th, which would significantly impact our construction schedule. Bread Loaf, our construction partner, has identified a strong alternative: a Corian sink with a seamless bowl and top in cameo white. This option is ADA-compliant, the right design, readily available, and would allow us to stay on schedule. The Corian sink also carries the same 10-year warranty as the Bradley model and is expected to be equal to or less expensive in cost. Pending UVAC’s approval, we hope to move forward with this option this week.

Bread Loaf is wrapping up the demolition and prep work for installation of the new flooring and lockers. Materials, such as toilet partitions, are set to begin arriving next week. They plan to start forming the bases for the new lockers, and finish the new shower plumbing in the coming week. Things are progressing nicely! Stay tuned for more updates as they arise!

We’re working closely with our contractors on the final design touches, including lighting, mirror placement, and materials.

We’re making progress! Bread Loaf Corporation has done a great job clearing out the men’s and boys’ locker rooms — everything is gone! Lockers, stalls, toilets, sinks, flooring — all removed down to the concrete walls and floors.
Up next: the team will be prepping floors, installing new wall framing, installing locker base framing, installing new trench drains, installing ceiling plumbing and electrical.
Women's Locker Room Update

The Women’s Locker Room has been divided into two separate spaces for both Men and Women, with a privacy divider and clearly marked areas for each.
As of today, the Family Locker Room and the newly divided locker room space are both available for use by guests. Please remember, if using the Family Locker Room, clothing or swimwear is required in the public spaces. Please use a Private Changing Room to fully disrobe. Guests of all ages use this area.
Men's Locker Room Renovation Has Begun

The Men’s Locker Room is now officially closed for renovations. During this time, all guests are welcome to use the Family Locker Room.
Please note: Clothing is required in the Family Locker Room unless you are inside a private changing room.
Locker Room Construction Begins Monday, July 7

Our locker room renovation project begins this coming Monday, July 7. On that day, the Men’s Locker Room will be closed as we begin Phase One of construction. Members may use the Family Locker Room on July 7 while we prepare the next space.
On Tuesday, July 8, the current Women’s Locker Room will be divided into separate spaces for both men and women, with a privacy divider and clearly marked areas for each. At that point, the Family Locker Room and the newly divided locker room space will both be available for use.
Signage will be in place throughout the facility to help guide you. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to improve your experience at Upper Valley Aquatic Center. Additional updates will follow as construction progresses.

We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear—and we’re thrilled to share that big changes are coming to the Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center!
Starting in late June/early July, we’ll begin a major renovation project designed to make your experience more comfortable, modern, and accessible. From heated floors and LED lighting to private shower stalls, full-length lockers, and improved vanity areas, these upgrades are inspired directly by the feedback we've received from our members.
We're currently working with Bread Loaf Corporation to finalize plans for this exciting transformation. Renovations are expected to begin in late June/early July, and wrap up this fall in October. During this time, members will be able to use the Family Locker Room while each space is under construction.
